Marbling & Woodgraining
Over 4000 years ago skilled craftmen in Egypt and Asia began woodgraining and marbling on walls and furniture to imitate scarce materials. The Greeks and the Romans applied marbling to architectural features where real marble was unsuitable because of its weight - the beautiful decorated walls of Pompeii and Herculaneum being great examples - and since the 1400’s the art of woodgraining and marbling has been used to decorate palaces, churches and, more recently, private homes.
Juan is able to imitate, re-create and even invent the most beautiful natural stones, woods, metals and other surface types with the use of pigments and different mediums. His expansive knowledge of nature combined with his craftmanship and imagination mean there is almost no limit to what is possible.
