About Juan
As a classically trained painter with 35 years experience working in the arts and interiors, Juan has an extraordinary talent for decorative art finishes including murals, trompe l’oeil, wood graining, marbling, gilding and églomisé.
Recent projects include the Mandarin Oriental, Claridges, The Berkeley and Lanesborough hotels; top London restaurant Sketch; flagship luxury stores in Mayfair as well as some truly exceptional private homes both in London and Moscow.
A Renaissance man at heart, Juan’s vast knowledge not only encompasses interior design, history of art and psychoanalysis applied to art, but dance, botany, anthropology, languages, astronomy, choreography, figure skating, acting and classical singing.
Juan gained a scholarship to the prestigious Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance in New York, graduated in choreography and then performed with the company. His background in dance and competitive skating took him across the US and Europe, where he also gave master classes at such venerable institutions as the Olympic Centre for Sporting Excellence in Barcelona and RADA in London.
All of Juan’s artistic interests are interlinked and feed his passion for the decorative arts and special paint finishes.
Juan works with end clients, designers and interiors studios on a project basis and is always open to discussing new opportunities.
