Mandarin Oriental Hotel

Sometimes it is impossible to find the same kind of marble that was used over one hundred and fifteen years ago for this Edwardian entrance at the Mandarin Oriental in Hyde Park. The quarries are closed and the Sienna levanto and verde antico marbles seams are different today. So here the challenge is to re-create from scratch the exact look of the original stone. Perfecting the art of marbling comes from understanding its geology and detail.
